Manchester United face a long road to success under Ruben Amorim and new signings will be needed in 2025.
Boxing Day saw Manchester United lose 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers, handing Ruben Amorim another defeat.
That is now four defeats in the last five Premier League games for United with no new manager bounce in sight.
Amorim will hope for a result against Newcastle United on Monday night before turning his attention to the January transfer window.
United splashed more than £180m on signings over the summer though and that may leave the January budget a little tight.
Amorim may be forced to wait until the summer for big recruits but he may be keen to reunite with some former stars.

Nuno Mendes to Manchester United latest
Amorim enjoyed great success at Sporting and may want to reunite with some key players from his time in Lisbon.
Nuno Mendes fits the bill after the now-Paris Saint-Germain left back broke through at Sporting under Amorim.
United were linked with Mendes in November and that speculation has ramped up.
Reports in France suggest that United have now made an offer to Mendes – and it may just turn his head and tempt him away from PSG.
Mendes is out of contract at the end of next season, meaning is now set to enter the final 18 months of his PSG deal.
Mendes has stalled on a new contract and if PSG can’t tempt him into signing on, United may well be able to convince PSG into selling before Mendes walks away in 2026.

Bruno Fernandes wanted Nuno Mendes
Mendes recently joined the AS1 agency alongside Bruno Fernandes with the pair no doubt familiar with each other from the Portugal national team setup.
In fact, Bruno had an eye on how Mendes was developing for a little while now.
Portuguese newspaper Record reported back in April 2021 that Bruno wanted United to sign Mendes having seen him thrive for Sporting.
Bruno’s wish was not fulfilled though as Mendes joined PSG on loan in 2021 before completing a permanent move a year later.
The United captain never actually played alongside Mendes at Sporting; the left back broke into the side after Bruno had joined United.
Mendes made his Portugal debut early in 2021 though and was seemingly impressed enough to want him at United.
Bruno has been a key player ever since joining United but we can’t imagine he has all that much say on transfer dealings.
That meant United missed out on Mendes as Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo arrived instead.
Bruno may finally see Mendes join him at Old Trafford after all but United will have to dig deep to convince PSG into selling.
