Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer window and speculation is bubbling away.
The January transfer window is always a little bit of a slow burn across the board, with teams reluctant to splash the cash.
Yet there is clear incentive for Manchester United to do business to give new head coach Ruben Amorim a better squad, allowing him to try and haul the club up the table.
Amorim has made clear he wants to do business in January, and work is ongoing to identify targets and potential opportunities.
Already names are being linked to the club, some of which have flown under the radar amid the dramatic 2-2 draw against Liverpool. Here is a round-up of where we are at…

Players linked to Manchester United
A number of players have been linked with joining Manchester United, some more likely than others. And clearly the club cannot sign them all.
Randal Kolo Muani
Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani is available for a loan deal, The Athletic report. Manchester United and Tottenham are claimed to be interested.
Muani has struggled this season, scoring only two goals for the French side, providing one assist. Fabrizio Romano has reported it is ‘guaranteed’ PSG will let Muani leave this month.
Dusan Vlahovic
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic could be included in a deal that sends Joshua Zirkzee to Juventus, Talksport report.
Vlahovic has scored 12 goals for Juventus this season but could be in need of a fresh challenge, while the Serie A side may be ready to switch things up, in fifth place in Serie A.
Sikou Niakate
Manchester United are showing interest in Malian defender Sikou Niakate, reports AfricaFoot.
Niakate plays for one of Ruben Amorim’s former sides Braga, and is valued at around £25 million. Rivals City are also claimed to be keen, with a summer move more likely than a January deal.
Nuno Mendes
Manchester United’s interest in left-back Nuno Mendes has intensified, Give Me Sport claim, with the club keen to sign a wing-back.
Nuno Mendes made his Sporting debut under Ruben Amorim, before clinching a move to PSG, but he has recently stalled over signing a new deal.
Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United retain interest in signing Patrick Dorgu from Italian side Lecce, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Dorgu is another player ideally suited for the wing-back role – but Lecce are determined to try and hold onto him until the summer.

Manchester United announcement expected
A very important deal is expected to be announced by Manchester United shortly, a contract renewal for Amad Diallo.
BBC Sport report Amad Diallo‘s contract is expected to be completed ‘this week’, with it claimed United are planning to formally announce the deal.
Amad has become a crucial first team player under Ruben Amorim, scoring an equalising goal in United’s draw with Liverpool at the weekend.
He became the first United player since Robin van Persie to score away at Liverpool and City in a season, having struck the winner at The Etihad last month.
Amad’s current deal is set to expire in June 2025, although there has been no panic as United have an option to extend by 12 months.
Even so, it is a priority for the club to reach an agreement, and it appears a deal is almost here, and that’s even more important than any currently discussed transfer deal.
