Manchester United attacker Amad showed character to seize his chance against Liverpool.
Amad Diallo will reflect that he should have scored in the first half at Anfield. He mis-timed his run and attempted header after an excellent Diogo Dalot cross.
Amad made up for it in the second half with United trailing, scoring an equalising goal with a well-taken first time shot after a low cross from substitute Alejandro Garnacho.
The goal tied the game at 2-2, which was how the match ended. United almost went on and won it.

Amad Diallo scores away at City and Liverpool
Amad Diallo is no stranger to scoring against Liverpool. His FA Cup quarter-final winner was among the best moments of 2024.
This goal was his first strike at Anfield, and came one month after Amad scored a winning goal away at City.
Amad’s goal made him the first Manchester United player to score away at Liverpool and Manchester City in the same season since Robin van Persie in 2012/13, the Red Devils’ last title winning season.
It’s a feat only achieved three times in the Premier League era, with Wayne Rooney the previous player to do so in 2004/05.
Amad was unlucky that his strike at Anfield was not a winning goal, with Liverpool needing VAR assistance to take the lead in the first place.
Amad has the temperament
Amad’s well taken goal at Anfield showed how he can be clinical with the ball at his feet. It also showed composure, able to finish off a swift counter attack.
He also did not let his first half miss get to him, and this was important, demonstrating a temperament needed to succeed at a big club like this.
Amad, 22, showed intelligence to get into space inside the Liverpool box, and it is still a source of frustration that Erik ten Hag left him on the bench at home to the Reds earlier in the season.
Ruben Amorim’s side have now been to City and won and to Liverpool and drawn. Now we just need to sort out our home form.
