Man Utd want to sign player who ‘fights every minute’, his teammates are ‘grateful to play’ with him

Manchester United’s summer ambitions are slowly becoming obvious with links to several players already beginning to heat up.

This summer is huge for Ineos and the recruitment team as they must get it right, to give Ruben Amorim the necessary provisions to fix the club.

Manchester United are likely to say goodbye to several players during the summer transfer window. With Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Tom Heaton and Christian Eriksen all expected to see their United contracts expire.

There will also be some big sales with Antony, Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho all likely to help fund the blockbuster summer of recruitment that United have planned.

One deal looks likely, as Geovany Quenda has already agreed personal terms ahead of a possible £33m move in the summer. This would tick one major box United have but another would still require heavy investment.

United are keen on signing a striker, with multiple names linked already including Victor Osimhen.

If United are to part with big money for a striker this summer, it will likely be someone who brings a guarantee of goals as opposed to a project striker, like Rasmus Hojlund.

Osimhen is said to be very keen on a move to Old Trafford and he wouldn’t be put off by the current position United find themselves in.

It would be an indescribable upgrade to the current attacking options and he would also bring an intangible quality which Amorim has already prioritised.

Amorim wants his players to “run like mad dogs” and Osimhen would bring this, as the Galatasaray captain Fernando Muslera has now outlined after the 26-year-old scored two goals earlier this week.

“He really puts in a lot of effort and fights every minute. He never gives up,” Muslera told TRT Sports in Turkey.

“We are all grateful to play with a player like him. We knew we would achieve something as a result of supporting him. Today, he scored the goals that brought us victory.

Osimhen would change the game for Manchester United

Signing the incredibly reliable and clinical Osimhen would change United’s fortunes, with the current attackers’ inability to finish proving very costly this season with the finishing against Spurs a prime example.

United have missed 43 of 61 big chances, which shows how poor the finishing has been and the impact which Osimhen – with 19 goals this season already – would have.

Osimhen has scored 14 goals in the Turkish Super Lig from 13.93 expected goals – indicating that the Nigerian international is a very reliable finisher, something United currently are without.

So with Osimhen likely to solve the scoring issue, it is encouraging to hear that his physicality and intensity are also in line with what United need in an attacking sense.

More and more Osimhen sounds like the perfect Amorim number nine, so United should be considering the avenues to get this deal done.
