Man Utd told their ‘phenomenal’ transfer target who’s a ‘beast’ has ‘no limit’ on how good he can be

Manchester United might be three games away from glory this season in the Europa League but the efforts to invest in the squad for the summer are already under way.

Ruben Amorim has repeatedly insisted that the club cannot repeat the mistakes of the past which he’s still lumbered with now and for the next few years.

In such an important transfer window, positions will need to be prioritised because Man Utd are working from a weak financial position.

As such, they will be delighted to hear that they are on the right path with at least one target of theirs, who’s been called phenomenal by his teammate.

‘Phenomenal’ Man Utd transfer target has limitless potential

Ineos have pivoted to a different transfer strategy upon arrival, focusing on young players with high potential who can grow together and form the spine of the next great United team.

As such, their interest in two players for the striker position posed an interesting dilemma.

On one hand is Victor Osimhen, as proven a goalscorer as any in Europe but one who’ll come with high wages, tough transfer fee and low resale value.

On the other hand is Liam Delap, still developing, has only one season in the Premier League but with immense potential, a low release clause and high resale value.

That debate might get settled now if the United executives are listening to Jens Cajuste, teammate of Liam Delap at Ipswich Town.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Cajuste said of Delap: “He’s phenomenal. He’s a beast, totally. For a young player like him, it’s very hard to say what he can be. I don’t think there’s a limit really.

“It’s all up to him how far he wants to go but he definitely has all the qualities.”

Liam Delap is a low-risk high-reward signing

In normal circumstances, Osimhen would be the go-to option for United because they’ve already been burned twice by signing developing players in Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

However, this case is a unique opportunity because of Delap’s release clause that makes him potentially the biggest bargain of the summer.

Delap has impressed and shown goalscoring nous while playing for a team that isn’t the favourite to win against at least 17 teams in the league.

He’s done so at the age of just 22 with plenty more to improve on, all while showing a maturity to block out the noise and keep doing what he does best.

He’s a low-risk, high-reward signing for his transfer fee because even if he doesn’t succeed at United, the club can easily sell him for a profit, especially on the amortisation front.

And if he succeeds, United will have bought the frontman for their next great team for less than half of what Hojlund cost!
