The season is already a write-off for Man Utd barring their Europa League run so the focus is on the summer window, with Victor Osimhen set to dominate the agenda.

In the mess that the Man Utd goalkeeping situation has quickly turned into, their striking woes have faded into the background.

That remains a pain point as Ruben Amorim will be a lamb for slaughter if he’s told to go into the next season with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as his strikers.

Enter Victor Osimhen, recently reported as Man Utd’s priority target over the likes of Liam Delap. The Nigerian hitman has now dropped an exciting transfer update on his future.

Victor Osimhen Man Utd transfer update

There’s a case to be made for choosing Liam Delap over Victor Osimhen, but they are two alternatives where United can’t go wrong, each having its own perks.

Osimhen is as proven as a striker gets which, for some Man Utd fans, is the holy grail after spending the last two years watching Hojlund learn to play PL football on the job in real time.

Relative to his quality and pedigree, his transfer fee will be palatable after burning bridges with Napoli, and if any player was worth spunking a wage packet on, it’s one who guarantees goals.

Osimhen has now given United encouragement in their transfer pursuit after dropping an exciting transfer update.

Speaking to NTV after a game for Galatasaray, he thanked the fans for their support before addressing his future.

He said: “There are always rumours about me, I think about the present. I am enjoying this moment; the fans always support me.

“We will make a decision soon. At the right time, the best decision for everyone will be made.”

Man Utd need to be decisive over Osimhen

There are many teams who will want a striker in the summer, with United joined by the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, to name two just from the Premier League alone.

Osimhen is not a player who fits Ineos’ philosophy of buying younger players with resale value but Amorim has already told that that philosophy is not set in stone.

If there was ever a player to break it for, it would have to be Osimhen, especially since Viktor Gyokeres looks out of Man Utd’s reach now.

If they want Osimhen, they need to start working and put the details in place well ahead of the window because the competition will be fierce.

At the same time, if they don’t, then they quickly need to pivot for, say, Liam Delap and advance there. As Osimhen said, he’s set to make a decision soon. United cannot die wondering either way.
