According to Give Me Sport, Spurs have already opened talks with River Plate to discuss a possible deal for Mastantuono.
United are named as another club who had been keen but have since moved on to other targets. This could perhaps be in relation to United approaching Southampton over Tyler Dibling, however it is a bad move from Ineos.

While signing another exciting young attacker would be great, missing out on Mastantuono may be a moment Ineos look back on with serious regret considering his potential.
The Argentine teenager fits the bill perfectly for Amorim’s system with his qualities ideal for the attacking midfield role at the club.
Mastantuono shares traits with Francisco Trinaco, who was so key under Amorim at Sporting CP. This has seen United linked with bringing Trincao to Old Trafford.
Signing Mastantuono could be transformational as he is a player with the potential to be an Amorim favourite and also one of the best players in the world for his position.
United should be in the running, and perhaps they will be if current priorities don’t work out.
