Transfer season has kicked off early for Manchester United, and now the first signing of the window is in advanced stages.
The importance of the upcoming transfer window at Old Trafford is one of unspeakable importance.
With Manchester United set for a worst-ever Premier League finish and a worst-ever loss tally in the competition, huge rebuilding is required in order to give Ruben Amorim a chance at competing next season.

Ineos are looking to steal a march on opponents this summer, and are already plotting to trigger release clauses for Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, from Wolves and Ipswich respectively.
This double swoop for Cunha and Delap who have a combined 26 goals in the Premier League this season for relegation-threatened sides would completely overhaul the options going forward for Amorim.
However, the club will not be done there as we have seen under Ineos’ rule, there will likely be youth additions to the frontline, with French talent being mulled over.

Manchester United in advanced talks to sign Enzo Kana-Biyik
Over in France, there are several talents due to leave their clubs for free, with United keen on signing PSG wonderkid trio, Axel Tape, Mahamadou Sangare and Oumar Camara.
But they are not alone, with Le Havre’s Enzo Kana-Biyik also emerging as a target for United in recent days, and now this deal looks to have progressed.
It is according to the French outlet L’Equipe that United have now moved forward in plans to sign Kana-Biyik, with Le Havre still hoping to convince the high-scoring youngster to remain.
- National U19 League – 14 games, 8 goals, 1 assist
- Coupe Gambardella – 1 game, 1 goal
Discussions between United and the youngster are ‘advanced’, the report claims, as his entourage are in talks over a move to Old Trafford.
The report adds that ‘several sources’ have predicted that a deal in favour of United is now ‘imminent’ with the French side still discussing their possible deal to secure his future and avoid losing the talented forward for free.
This would be another deal which has become typical of Ineos – low risk, high reward and almost sure to bring in a profit. Back in 2024, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said he wanted United to sign the ‘next Mbappe’, and these are the kind of deals to achieve that, with Christopher Vivell undoubtedly at the centre of this.
Where would Enzo Kana-Biyik fit in at Old Trafford?
Le Havre to United is a path which has been trodden before by Paul Pogba, but for Kana-Biyik it would be a big change and similar to Sekou Kone, he would take time to bed in at the club.
Interestingly, Kana-Biyik has been compared with the play style of United’s summer target, Hugo Ekitike. Both are natural goal scorers and have impressive finishing while being slightly awkward but effective on the ball.
If United manage to take Kana-Biyik from Le Havre this summer, it would be another brilliant coup from the club as he would slot directly into the U21 set-up to begin with, at least.
There are no drawbacks to this deal; however, it will raise questions around the future of Ethan Wheatley, who has struggled on loan with Walsall.
Meanwhile, Gabriele Biancheri should have earned himself a well-placed loan with his brilliant performances this season.
