Manchester United have struggled for goals this season, and now Ruben Amorim will be delighted by plans to overhaul the front three.

It has been a very long season for those watching Manchester United, with a worst-ever Premier League finish looking all but certain. With just eight games remaining, Ruben Amorim’s side sits 13th in the table, with as low as 15th a concerning possibility.

Due to this season, United are planning to overhaul Amorim’s squad with at least 10 departures expected, yet even more have been rumoured to be on the chopping block.

In the attacking positions, there is expected to be a complete revamp, with two of United’s four priority positions being in the front three.

There seems to be a good chance that by next season, United will have sold Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and maybe even Rasmus Hojlund permanently.

This will leave space in the squad for additions, and that is exactly what Ineos are now planning to do for Amorim.

Manchester United target Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha in double deal

There have been several names linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, with two of the most exciting being Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha.

Both have enjoyed excellent campaigns for their clubs Ipswich and Wolves respectively, yet are both looking for a new challenge this summer.

Now, The Athletic have reported that United believe they can sign both forwards in the summer transfer window if sales go the correct way. Cunha would arrive as an option in the No.10 position, while Delap would be a new first-choice striker.

United could get Delap for as cheap as £30m with his relegation release clause, while the report adds that Cunha’s £62.5m clause would need to be triggered, as the player fancies a move to United ahead of Newcastle and Forest.

In regards to Cunha, United view him as a player at the top of his game who could have an instant impact, with a more ready-made quality than the youngsters being targeted as a priority.

Finally, journalist Eduardo Burgos has also weighed in on the situation, claiming United are now favourites to sign Cunha.

These two additions would potentially be game-changing for United in the attack, with the pair having something Hojlund has never quite managed.

Manchester United’s front three next season could be Premier League-proven

The exciting thing about signing Cunha and Delap is that both have already proven that they can do it in the Premier League, which previous attacking signings had not.

Cunha already has 13 league goals this season, while Delap has managed 12 – both getting double digits, which Hojlund has failed to in his opening two campaigns barring a miracle over the next few months.

In fact, Cunha this season has scored the same amount of goals as Hojlund over the past two seasons, while Delap is one goal from matching this.

With these additions, United’s midfield to attack could look something like the above, which looks very talented and dangerous. Massive improvements upon the current options.

Targeting Premier League-proven players should aid with the transition, and it would be a very exciting pair of additions.
