Manchester United have been long-term admirers of Ederson and could reignite interest in the Atalanta midfielder this summer.
Fans can expect a squad overhaul this summer with Ineos planning on raising £100 million in sales to fund new signings of their own.
At the top of the shopping list is a new centre-forward with United closing in on Liam Delap now that his £30 million relegation clause is active.
However, with Christian Eriksen leaving in the summer, a new central midfielder could also arrive and United have thoroughly scouted Ederson this season.

What Man United must do to sign Ederson this summer
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ederson is a ‘dream target’ for United and Ineos would like to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.
United were interested in Ederson last summer but ultimately Ineos ended up bringing Manuel Ugarte to Old Trafford as the only midfield signing.
However, it seems Ineos are not giving up on the Brazilian midfielder. According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, United have held fresh talks with Atalanta over Ederson.
Pedulla says United have been told they must improve the £42 million (50m Euros) bid they made last summer if they plan to land Ederson.
Ederson is a perfect fit for Amorim’s system, and at 25 years old he still has plenty of time to continue to develop at Old Trafford.
How much Man United are willing to pay for Ederson
Reports suggest United’s Ederson move relies on winning the Europa League, with the final set to take place against Tottenham in Bilbao later this month.
If United come out on top in Bilbao, fans can expect Ineos to make a move for the Atalanta midfielder.

However, a deal will certainly require some negotiating with both clubs currently quite far away with their valuations. Atalanta want £63.7m for Ederson this summer, but United aren’t willing to go quite so high.
Instead, reports suggest United are willing to pay up to £51m for Ederson. It is an increase on last summer’s bid, but Ineos will require Atalanta to drop their asking price to make a deal happen.
