It feels more and more inevitable that Matheus Cunha will be a Manchester United player next season.
Ruben Amorim has made it clear he will need attacking reinforcements over the summer with Manchester United struggling in front of goal this season.
Ineos have held positive talks with Matheus Cunha just days after the Brazilian starred in Wolves’ 1-0 win over United at Old Trafford.
Cunha has a £62.5m release clause which United are prepared to trigger to get a deal over the line. Wolves are willing to accept payment through instalments meaning United may pay just £12.5m for Cunha this summer.

There were several clubs interested in his signature, but Cunha “loves” United and wants to make a move to Old Trafford.
Amorim is a big admirer of Cunha and it seems he and Ineos are aligned on bringing the 25-year-old in this summer.
According to Goal Brazil, United have now “reached an agreement” to trigger Matheus Cunha’s release clause. They claim the deal is “all tied up” and Cunha will join Amorim’s squad at the end of the season.
United are discussing personal terms with Cunha to finalise his contract terms ahead of a deal being completed.

With United inching closer to signing Cunha, Amorim can begin preparing to integrate him into the squad in the summer.
United are touring Asia post-season with two fixtures scheduled for the end of May.
Premier League clubs voted in March to open the summer transfer window early in anticipation of the Fifa Club World Cup. It means that the summer window will first open on June 1st until June 10th – just days after United’s post-season tour.
If United have finalised all terms for Cunha’s deal, he could make his move to Old Trafford then.

It would mean that Cunha would be available and ready for United’s pre-season tour of the United States, where they will feature in the Premier League Summer Series.
United’s first fixture Stateside is against West Ham on July 26th – that could be the first sighting of Cunha in a United shirt.
