Alejandro Garnacho set to be offered possible reunion with two former Manchester United teammates

Alejandro Garnacho’s spell at Chelsea turned into a miserable experience for him after his Manchester United exit.

Last August, I wrote, ‘Alejandro Garnacho is making the biggest mistake of his career, and it’s too late to walk it back‘, as he closed in on his move to Chelsea.

It was clearly too late by then for Garnacho to force a reconciliation with Ruben Amorim, but he could clearly have handled his exit better.

His spell at Chelsea was predictably disastrous. He scored only one Premier League goal this season, and their awful form saw two managers fired in 2025/26, with a 10th placed finish.

Now plans are afoot for Chelsea to sell Garnacho already amid a new overhaul.

What is your message to Alejandro Garnacho after Man Utd do the double over Chelsea in 2025/26…

Garnacho to be offered to Napoli

Alejandro Garnacho signed for Chelsea for £40 million, one of Manchester United’s biggest ever sales.

Si Phillips Talks Chelsea reports that Chelsea intend to offer Alejandro Garnacho to Napoli this summer.

Napoli showed interest in Garnacho when he was at Manchester United in January 2025 and then summer 2025, when he chose to sign with Chelsea.

Chelsea plan to follow up this potential lead and find out if Napoli are interested in pursuing a deal for the winger, as they sound out options to offload him.

A move to Napoli could appeal to Garnacho, as he could reunite with former Manchester United teammates Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay.

There was a stage where Garnacho and Hojlund were seen as an integral part of United’s future, under former boss Erik ten Hag.

Napoli wanted to sign Kobbie Mainoo back in January, before Ruben Amorim’s sacking shut down his potential exit. He has now signed a new contract with Manchester United.

One complication for Garnacho is that Napoli have changed managers, appointing Massimiliano Allegri in place of Antonio Conte. So it is unclear if their interest in the winger will still remain – especially after his poor form this past season.

What are your thoughts on Liverpool sacking Arne Slot and hiring Andoni Iraola?

Do you expect United to beat them home and away again next season?

Garnacho frustration

Alejandro Garnacho played only four minutes in the FA Cup Final for Chelsea. He had fumed over playing 20 minutes in the Europa League Final for United 12 months earlier.

It capped a miserable year that saw him omitted from Argentina’s 2026 World Cup squad.

An exit from Chelsea will present him with a fresh start – again. It might just be what he needs.
