Manchester United have acted swiftly and now the arrival of Ruben Amorim is imminent.
Not even 36 hours after Erik ten Hag was sacked by Manchester United, already his replacement has been sourced.
Sporting Lisbon confirmed United would be appointing Ruben Amorim, with his €10 million (£8.3m) release clause being bought out by Ineos.
Amorim will likely take charge following Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup outing against Leicester City – with Ruud van Nistelrooy to lead out United for this game.

This would likely leave Amorim’s first game as United manager against Chelsea. So with the appointment now arranged, it is worth looking at who will benefit and who will suffer as a result.

Three biggest winners from Ruben Amorim arrival
Manuel Ugarte
The first and most obvious of all the potential big winners from Amorim’s arrival is Manuel Ugarte – with the Uruguayan enduring a bizarre start to life under Ten Hag.
The Dutchman did not seem keen on using Ugarte – but for Amorim, it will be a reunification with a midfielder he turned into a £52m player.
Ugarte shined under Amorim in Portugal and in the new system, we imagine he will play a key role once again, ending Casemiro’s resurgence into the starting XI.
Harry Amass
One youngster who could be afforded the chance to step up into the senior team under Amorim is Harry Amass.
Despite shining in pre-season, Ten Hag was worried about Amass’ physicality, but with Amorim often placing his trust in the youth he could be in line to fill the left wing-back position.
Amass could benefit from Luke Shaw’s injury woes continuing, and prove that he is ready right now to be the left-footed left wing-back United need.
Rasmus Hojlund
The final player we think would greatly benefit from the arrival of Amorim is Rasmus Hojlund.

Amorim will likely love the qualities Hojlund possesses, and could absolutely be looking to turn Hojlund into a player like Viktor Gyokeres.
Hojlund will have to establish himself as the starter all over again though as Amorim could also give Joshua Zirkzee a renewed role.
All being well, Hojlund could be phenomenal under Amorim and we cannot wait to see how he develops.
Three biggest losers from Ruben Amorim arrival
Antony
Arguably the biggest loser of all with Amorim’s arrival will be Antony – the most expensive signing of Ten Hag’s time at United.
The winger has been utterly atrocious during his two-year spell at United to date and we struggle to see him getting a look in under Amorim.
In fact, already it is being reported that United have told Antony he can leave in January, which says it all about his future at the club.
Bruno Fernandes
One possible loser from this appointment may be Bruno Fernandes – although this is far from a certainty.
This thinking stems from the idea that Amorim’s preferred tactical set-up does not include an attacking midfielder – which leaves Bruno without a natural position.
The midfield will likely be Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo – while Bruno has struggled on the wings before making that an unlikely idea.
This could mean long-term, Bruno is a player United look to move on from – although we hope Amorim finds a place for Bruno.
Casemiro
The final player who could be a big loser is Casemiro, with the Brazilian’s mobility likely to go against him in his bid to remain a United midfielder.
Casemiro’s legs are not what they used to be, yet he had earned some loyalty from Ten Hag who had started picking him often again.
With Ugarte signed and likely to be a starter, along with several promising youth players in the position, Casemiro’s days are numbered.
