The season has gotten off to a pretty horrendous start for Manchester United.
Despite pre-season optimism, the first 10 games of the season have followed the same trend as last season – with just three wins.
Any confidence we had in Manchester United getting top four evaporated after the 3-0 humbling against Liverpool.
A 7-0 triumph over League One Barnsley was exciting at the time, but since then United have failed to score in three Premier League games – drawing four of the last five with a loss being the other result.
This form left Erik ten Hag under serious scrutiny and he could yet pay the ultimate price.
Here are how the 22 players currently at United and who have made at least one appearance have rated so far in the campaign.

Andre Onana – 8
Starting of these player ratings for the season so far is first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana and we start off on a high.
Despite some poor moments, Onana has truly saved Ten Hag at times this season with four clean sheets in seven games – making the most of the bad hand he has been dealt.
Onana has prevented 3.26 goals which is in the 92nd percentile and makes it remarkable that he is the joint clean sheet leader. If things do improve for United, Onana will be at the centre of it.
Altay Bayindir – 5
For Altay Bayindir, year two at Old Trafford has already seen him match his appearance tally for the whole of last season.
Bayindir kept a clean sheet in the 7-0 thrashing of Barnsley – although it would have been a mark on his record if he hadn’t.
Diogo Dalot – 7
Diogo Dalot is an ever-present figure within Ten Hag’s team and despite some poor performances – which could easily be attributed to fatigue – he has been mostly solid.
Dalot has been used at left-back in the absence of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia – a role he has done himself proud in.
One of last season’s best players looks good money to once more be ranked among the top performers.
Noussair Mazraoui – 7
Noussair Mazraoui got off to a quick start at Manchester United after his bargain £13m move from Bayern Munich.
Playing at right back, Mazraoui has like Dalot been mostly good in a team which is struggling quite a lot.
If he continues to perform at this level, United might have signed a true phenom for the defence.
Harry Maguire – 6
Harry Maguire’s role has been slashed at the club following the centre-back reinforcement over the summer.
However, when called upon Maguire is as reliable as ever, with his late header against Porto claiming a crucial point.
In a squad player role, we think Maguire is a real asset for Ten Hag’s team.
Jonny Evans – 6
For Jonny Evans, there will probably be some disbelief over the fact he is still playing for United just months before 2025.
Evans may be 36 but when Ten Hag needs him, he is often absolutely brilliant in defence.
Against Aston Villa, he put in a memorable performance which at least made Ineos’ decision over Ten Hag’s future a tough one.
Lisandro Martinez – 4

Lisandro Martinez is a brilliant footballer when he is in form and having him back this season was expected to have had a huge impact on United.
That being said, due to how good we know he can be, we hold him to a higher standard which is why we have scored him so low.
Martinez has been poor, especially against Spurs and Porto, but we know he is capable of better, so we need to see this.

Matthijs de Ligt – 6
Summer arrival Matthijs de Ligt has been rather hot and cold in his 10 games for United so far.
Things started well and De Ligt was brilliant against Southampton, but amid the chaos of the past three games he has struggled.
Not the start he would have wanted – but he can hardly be blamed when the rest of the team is also out of form.
Victor Lindelof – 5
Victor Lindelof’s season only started on Sunday against Aston Villa as he was a second-half substitute.
In his 45-minute cameo, he completed 100% of his passes and made nine defensive actions which bodes well for his future outings.
Casemiro – 3
Casemiro’s season is almost a replica of last season as his legs continue to go, and the game passes him by.
The Brazilian was good against Fulham and Barnsley, but other than that has been atrocious – with his 45 minutes vs Liverpool being the worst of the bunch.
This will be a long season for the 32-year-old.
Christian Eriksen – 8

In a team of underperformers, few would have predicted that Christian Eriksen would be a standout.
Eriksen has three goals and three assists this season already and has been United’s best player in every cup game this season.
In his third season after a free-transfer arrival, Eriksen has turned out to be a true bargain for United.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
For Kobbie Mainoo, this season has been rather underwhelming so far – at least by his own marvellous standards from his debut campaign.
Mainoo has given the ball away more than any other United player this season which shows that improvements are needed.
After an improved outing against Aston Villa, Mainoo will now be hoping to add to his growing highlight reel.
Manuel Ugarte – 4
Manuel Ugarte was signed to be the solution to the ever-present midfield problem at United however so far he has failed to win over Ten Hag.
These early struggles have led to Ugarte being left on the bench for the last two games – clearly, he has plenty of work to do in order to make good on his £42m transfer fee.
It could be due to his lack of pre-season and then also coming into a team who are struggling, but right now his performances are simply not good enough.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Bruno Fernandes has more red cards (2) than he has goals (0) – a statistic which epitomises his problematic start to the 2024/25 season.
The United captain has been woefully out of form, looking like a shell of himself on the pitch, while often cutting a frustrated figure.
He has only created six chances this season so far in the Premier League, sitting Bruno in the 43rd percentile which is substantially lower than we are accustomed to seeing him create.
If Bruno is firing, chances are the rest of the team will and so it is key that Ten Hag gets the Portuguese international back in form.
Mason Mount – 5
After a poor first season at Old Trafford, it was pivotal that Mason Mount impress this season, and to date, this has been far from the case – with just four appearances due to injuries.
However, when Mount was fit at the start of the season, he was playing pretty well – creating two chances against Fulham is a testament to that.
He was key in an exciting new United press this season – something which disappeared after his injury. Work to do, but if he can just keep fit, United could have a proper player.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7

With four goals and three assists this season, Alejandro Garnacho is United’s top goal contributor for the 2024/25 season right now.
This is despite a slow start in terms of minutes, with the Argentine being eased back in due to having no pre-season.
Garnacho is adored by United fans, even in defeat the Stretford End can be heard vocalising their love for the No.17, belting out verse after verse of ‘viva Garnacho’.
Amad Diallo – 7
This season has seen Amad Diallo become a bonafide starter for Ten Hag, with the Ivorian impressing on the right wing and arguably seeming to be the first choice there having started four games there with a goal and assist to show for it.
Amad has been the main creative outlet for United this season, with 3.16 chances created per 90 – placing him into the 91st percentile.
Playing Amad would be a smart move from Ten Hag considering he offers something no other winger does. We hope to see him on the pitch more and more going forward.
Antony – 5
Antony has already opened his goal-scoring account – although it was from the penalty spot against Barnsley.
In the Premier League, Antony has yet to start a game and played just 27 minutes which just shows what Ten Hag now thinks of his once marquee signing.
Antony has limited chances to impress Ten Hag and in all likelihood, this is his last season as a United player with it being clear he has no future, barring some miraculous turnaround.
Joshua Zirkzee – 6
United’s newest striker addition Joshua Zirkzee is anything but a classic number nine.
The Dutchman has already frustrated in front of goal, scoring just once from 3.08 expected goals – with Paul Scholes questioning his quality.
Zirkzee has impressed in his build-up play, and links the midfield to attack well – although ultimately he needs to put the ball in the net.
Marcus Rashford – 7
For Marcus Rashford, this season has been much better – compared with last season and he slowly looks to be gaining confidence.
Rashford has been back running at and beating defenders while he has added four goals with two assists.
United will be desperate for this resurgence to continue – with Mike Phelan telling Rashford how to improve.
Rashford is a confident player and with this building, he could be on the cusp of another immaculate run.

Rasmus Hojlund – 5
Finally, Rasmus Hojlund has really only returned in the past few weeks and bar a good goal against Porto, he has not done much.
That being said, the service he is getting is truly shambolic with Hojlund not being handed the chance to have a single shot against Villa.
Hojlund will hope to get a run of games after the international break and begin scoring – pushing himself toward breaking last season’s tally.
