Amad Diallo at Sunderland
On the 31st of August 2022, Amad joined Championship side Sunderland on a season-long loan. He scored his first goal for Sunderland on the 22nd of October 222, in a 4–2 home defeat to Burnley.
Amad made a seriously good start to life on Tyneside but particularly shone in December. His three goals in five games in December, meant he won the EFL Young Player of the Month award.
At the end of the season, he was rewarded for his fine loan spell at Sunderland with the supporters’ Young Player of the Year award. Other notable moments include a ridiculous free-kick in the play-off semi-final.
