The transfer window is closed and Manchester United have been left worryingly weak in attack.
Ineos oversaw a small clearout in the winter transfer window with the loan market being used to rid Ruben Amorim’s squad of unwanted figures.
Marcus Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa, while Antony also departed the club on loan to Real Betis.
These two had to leave the club, but with no replacement, Manchester United have been left with a small list of players who can play in the three forward roles.
- Alejandro Garnacho
- Amad Diallo
- Bruno Fernandes
- Christian Eriksen
- Joshua Zirkzee
- Kobbie Mainoo
- Mason Mount
- Rasmus Hojlund
Due to this situation, Amorim may need to turn to Carrington, as other managers have done so successfully before him, with one player perfect for what United are lacking.

Ruben Amorim has ready solution to Ineos’ transfer blunder
With deadline day leaving United light in options up front and also in the No.10 role, the academy has the solutions for Amorim.
Amorim has shown his trust for the academy in his career with 27 Sporting players handed their debuts under the 40-year-old.
It seems like a matter of time before Chido Obi makes the step up to senior football, with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund faltering up front.
However, in the No.10 role, it looks as though United will also need an addition and Jack Moorhouse is the most ready option right now.
Moorhouse has been catching the eye at U21 level since his return to action late last year and has positioned himself well should Amorim reach into the academy.
It’s clear to see why, as aspects of his ability are almost Paul Pogba-esque and now Ineos have created the pathway for him to step up.
Manchester United could use Jack Moorhouse this season
Moorhouse’s performances show he’s ready to play a part for Amorim, and his qualities on the pitch lend themselves well to helping improve United.
Moorhouse is making up for lost time at United and has been involved in first-team training under Amorim already.
This was after Amorim was in attendance to watch Moorhouse’s best performance of the season, and since then he’s got even better consistently.
Amorim could use Moorhouse as a left-sided No.10, where Moorhouse’s Pogba-like ball-carrying and athleticism can help him fit in immediately.
Moorhouse can score, and create and is very intelligent with his decisions on the pitch. At this rate, it would be surprising if he did not at least make a handful of cameos this season.
