Ederson will have to deal with the spotlight of being a Manchester United player when his deal is finalised in July.
Manchester United have kick-started their 2026 summer transfer window with a £38 million deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta.
The United fanbase is split on Ederson as he arrives as a fairly unknown player from the Serie A, so he will have a lot to prove when he enters the Old Trafford pitch for the first time.
Ederson is excited by the Premier League, but he will quickly learn that the pressure that comes with playing for United is unlike any other club.

What is your INSTANT REACTION to Manchester United’s deal for Ederson?
Ederson is well-equipped to handle Man Utd pressure
In his debut season at the club, Benjamin Sesko felt the pressure of being a United player, and he has adapted well at Old Trafford.
That is a credit to his mentality, and now Ederson will face a similar challenge once his deal is completed.
As quoted by the Daily Mail, though, Ederson puts a lot of importance on his mental strength, which should prepare him for what is to come.
“It’s very important to me that if you have good mental health, you’ll be the best footballer you can be,” Ederson said.
“Working on my mental strength is very important. I started doing it after my first season in Atalanta.
“After that summer I came back with the positive thought that I could do better, that I knew my quality and had no negative reason not to do well.
“I’m strong, I’m healthy, which is the most important thing, and my family is by my side. When I’m at home I try to have time with my wife and daughters.
“Football consumes you a lot on a daily basis, and even during training there is pressure. So when I’m at home, I try to rest and pay attention to my family.”
Who has been Man Utd’s BEST and WORST signing in the £31m-40m price range? How will Ederson compare?
Man Utd are prioritising character in new signings
Last season, Ruben Amorim spoke about a new transfer rule implemented at United.
The rule was that United would take more time to learn a player’s character and mentality before signing them.
United’s recruitment record has been terrible over the past decade, with too many players arriving at Old Trafford who either wanted a payday or couldn’t handle the pressure of representing the club.
Ineos are improving United’s recruitment, and it seems Ederson is the right type of character that can come in and strengthen Michael Carrick’s squad.
