Manchester United drew 2-2 with Everton in the Premier League – but it could have been a whole lot worse for Ruben Amorim and his side.
The Red Devils went two goals down in the first half thanks to Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure strikes, and it looked set to be another extremely miserable Premier League outing for United.
However, as has happened many times before, Bruno Fernandes got Manchester United back into things. The Portuguese Magnifico unleashed a free-kick from the highest drawer into the back of Jordan Pickford’s goal.
Then Manuel Ugarte got his first goal in a United shirt, saving a point, and some further embarrassment, at Goodison Park.
United didn’t have many good performers against Everton, but one struggling Red Devils star was particularly absent.

Rasmus Hojlund struggles massively again against Everton
It just hasn’t been the season for Rasmus Hojlund yet at Manchester United. The Dane ghosted again against the Toffees.
Another goalless visit for Hojlund means that he’s now 15 games without a goal to his name. But what’s arguably more worrying is his all-round game despite the lack of strikes this season.
Hojlund’s stats were bad against David Moyes’ side. But one that highlights his absentness was the fact he had nearly three times fewer touches than United’s goalkeeper – Andre Onana (35).
| Hojlund stats against Everton | |
| Minutes played | 70 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 0 |
| Total shots | 0 |
| Accurate passes | 7/7 (100%) |
| Attack | |

Hojlund still has bags of potential, but he shouldn’t be starting the next game – particularly when his replacement is glaringly obvious.
Chido Obi is Rasmus Hojlund’s replacement
Chido Obi, on the other hand, came on and had a very positive cameo against Everton.
The young striker has been hoisted into the United first-team squad setup amid Ruben Amorim’s injury crisis – and there’s a perfect opportunity to start him from the off against Ipswich in midweek.
Manchester United, and Amorim, really don’t have anything left to lose in the Premier League. Europe is out of the question, and they’re more so in a relegation battle than anything.
Chido Obi in, Rasmus Hojlund out please Mr Amorim on Wednesday evening.
