Alarming Man Utd stat reveals they’ve done something just once in last 17 games

Manchester United are nowhere near where they need to be. Ruben Amorim’s appointment has been a disaster.

The Red Devils are enduring one of their worst-ever campaigns and sit deep inside the bottom half of the Premier League table. Their concerning form has already forced Amorim to send a shock relegation warning.

With their hopes once again pinned on the FA Cup and Europa League, United are scrambling to save their season, however, as one stat confirms, it’s going to be virtually impossible to end the campaign on a high.

Worrying Man United stat proves Ruben Amorim’s biggest problem

Despite having one of Europe’s most expensive squads, Manchester United have struggled to put the ball in the back of the net.

In fact, so poor have the Red Devils’ forwards been that they’ve managed to score just one goal in the first half in their last 17 matches in all competitions.

Since Alejandro Garnacho’s first-minute goal against Bodo/Glimt on the 28th of November during a 3-2 Europa League win, the 20-time league winners have managed to score just one first-half goal.

Rasmus Hojlund’s goal against Nottingham Forest after 18 minutes during a 2-3 Premier League defeat on the 7th of December was the last time Amorim’s men scored in a game’s first 45 minutes.

Eye-opening

It is incredibly alarming to learn just how few games Manchester United have scored in, especially in the first half.

Not only are the Red Devils one of the Premier League’s lowest-scoring teams, averaging just 1.12 goals per game, but their failure to start games well will probably lead to them losing out in cup competitions, as well as continuing to flirt with relegation.

Absolutely disastrous and evidence of just how badly the club’s transfer policy has failed.
