Ruben Amorim has unwavering commitment from Man Utd ace to turn things around at Old Trafford, it will be worth the wait

A Manchester United star appears to be committed to fighting for his place at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim, despite being linked with a move away.

Ruben Amorim will be looking ahead to Manchester United’s return to Premier League action on Saturday against Everton at Goodison Park.

The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday, with the pressure piling on further for United boss Amorim.

United languish in 15th place in the Premier League table and Amorim’s men have only managed eight league wins in 25 matches in the 2024-25 season.

The Red Devils’ hopes of a top-four finish are all but over and lifting the Europa League title is their best chance of returning to the Champions League.

United are currently 12 points clear of the Premier League relegation zone and the Red Devils are 15 points adrift from the top four ahead of the Everton match.

Man Utd star’s future at Old Trafford

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is ‘still committed’ to the Premier League club and wants to be ‘starting’ matches for the Red Devils.

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled to deliver in the final third this season and the Danish forward has only netted seven times in 32 appearances for United.

The 22-year-old Denmark international has not scored in 2025 and has failed to find the back of the net since his brace against Viktoria Plzen last December.

Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford in 2023 under former United manager Erik ten Hag after he was signed in a £72m deal from Serie A outfit Atalanta.

The ex-Atalanta man’s form has seen him linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but TEAMtalk reports there is no ‘suggestion’ that United are ‘open to a sale.’

It is added that Leeds United are out of the race to sign Hojlund, with his wages ‘far beyond’ what they are willing to pay and a potential transfer fee being ‘too high.’

Amorim defended Man Utd star Hojlund

Speaking to reporters last month, Amorim tipped Hojlund to bounce back and felt that the United striker was not completely at fault for his lack of goalscoring output.

“I think it’s a team problem. You can see it,” he said.

“It’s not just from now, it’s from the past. So, we have clearly a lack of goals and a lack of threat.

“When you threaten the opponents, the opponents maybe don’t press you so high. So, everything is connected.

“All the players have moments in this season. I think when we started this journey together, Rasmus was the player that was always scoring.

“So, he can come back in the next game, we will see.”
