Manuel Ugarte scored his first goal for Manchester United in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Everton.

It’s always a proud moment getting off the mark for a new club.

Manchester United needed Manuel Ugarte’s equaliser on Saturday or else it would have felt like a longer trip back from Goodison Park.

Ruben Amorim was left disappointed again by United’s performance, but the players showed the right character in the end to clinch a point.

The point doesn’t come without drama as a controversial penalty incident occurred in stoppage-time. United could breathe a sigh of relief because VAR overturned the decision.

Still, it was a special game on an individual note for some players as Bruno Fernandes reached double figures for goals this season.

Manuel Ugarte proud of first Manchester United goal

Fernandes wasn’t the only United player with something to boast about at full-time.

Ugarte’s equaliser was his first goal for United since the £50million summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

In the 70th minute, Fernandes halved United’s deficit with a stunning free-kick before Ugarte levelled the scoring with a half-volley.

Ugarte took to Instagram after the match to share that he was disappointed with the result, but also proud to have finally scored for United.

United fans will hope to see Ugarte on the scoresheet more often between now and the remainder of the season.

The result means United remain 15th in the Premier League as Everton sit 14th.

Goalscoring problems stack up for Manchester United

Both of United’s goals against Everton came from midfielders.

All while Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee continue to struggle to provide goals.

Amorim was lambasted a few weeks ago for starting a game without a striker, yet they’ve continued to misfire when called upon.

Hojlund’s lack of presence in the fnal third is becoming a major concern and Zirkzee doesn’t get into goalscoring positions.
