It has been a hectic week for Ruben Amorim, who has now been confirmed as the new Manchester United head coach.
Manchester United announced on Friday that Ruben Amorim will become the new head coach, just four days after Erik ten Hag was sacked.
The 39-year-old is set to take charge of the side on Monday, 11th November, meaning interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of three more games.
Van Nistelrooy has admitted he would like to stay on under Ruben Amorim‘s backroom staff, but Amorim has not yet decided whether to keep hold of Ten Hag’s right-hand man.
Ineos acted swiftly to hire Amorim and United chiefs flew out to Portugal to get the deal over the line quickly.
As usual with United, the media spotlight followed, and it seems Amorim might not be handling it as well as he might have hoped.

It was an intense week for Amorim, who had to take charge of Sporting Lisbon first against Nacional and then against Estrela Amadora all while facing relentless questions about the United job.
United fans tuned into Sporting’s 3-1 win over Nacional believing it might have been Amorim’s farewell match, but it has since been revealed that he will stay on until the international break.
We tracked every word said by Amorim on Man United during his press conference after the Nacional win, but he understandably kept his cards close to his chest.
The questions only continued to pour in around the United job, and The Athletic report that Amorim has been affected by the process.
They claim Amorim “confided in friends that the experience had exhausted him” after being “grilled by journalists” about becoming United’s head coach.
It adds: “Colleagues who have known Amorim for years observed he didn’t look his usual relaxed self during the press conference.”

Hated. Adored. Never ignored. Unfortunately for Amorim, the spotlight will always be on him during his time at Old Trafford.
As seen over the past decade, some deal with that better than others. Ten Hag didn’t necessarily handle the press well, while Jose Mourinho is someone who saw the press conference as the start of a matchday.

Amorim has been compared to Mourinho ahead of his move to Manchester, so hopefully the charismatic Portuguese coach can thrive in front of microphones.
There is no doubt that Amorim is one of the most exciting coaches in Europe and his 3-4-3 system promises to freshen things up tactically at Old Trafford, but a United manager also needs to cope with his every word being scrutinised.
