Fabrizio Romano has now spotlighted where Barcelona stand on Marcus Rashford over one thing amid a scathing assessment from Paul Scholes on the Manchester United loanee.
Marcus Rashford has been handed a fresh start for the second time in his career after the 27-year-old Manchester United loanee moved to Barcelona in the summer.
The United player returned to Old Trafford for a brief period in the summer after his loan spell with Aston Villa expired at the end of the 2024-25 Premier League season.
Rashford has impressed at times for Barcelona during the early part of his loan spell and has been afforded first-team opportunities under manager Hansi Flick.
The Barcelona summer signing has made six appearances across all competitions in the 2025-26 La Liga season and Rashford has netted twice and picked up an assist.

Paul Scholes pulled no punches towards Marcus Rashford on his new podcast, with the Manchester United legend putting the Barcelona and England star on full blast.
The 50-year-old former United midfielder admitted that he struggled to “feel happy” for Rashford and was critical of the ex-Aston Villa star’s “attitude” at Old Trafford.
Rashford signed for Villa last February and spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park after falling down the United pecking order under Ruben Amorim.
Speaking on the ‘Here We Go Podcast,’ Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Rashford’s “attitude” is not seen as a problem at Barcelona amid his loan spell.
“I can guarantee that Barcelona are very happy; very, very, very happy with Marcus Rashford,” he said.
“And it’s about the attitude, it’s about the two goals [against] Newcastle, of course, to show that he can deliver also on the international stage when there are many players absent like Lamine Yamal and more.
“Rashford is giving a big help to Barcelona and that’s what they wanted.”

Rashford made an impact for Barcelona against Newcastle in the Champions League after the Three Lions star netted a superb second-half brace at St James’ Park.
Romano added that Barcelona hold the England international in high regard and the defending Spanish champions feel that he can only “improve” in multiple ways.
“But at the same time, Barcelona believe that the potential of Marcus Rashford [is] still there, that he can improve a lot in terms of adapting to [a] new style, new coach, new city, new country, new pressure at Barcelona,” he continued.
“So, for sure, they are very happy with Rashford. It’s still the beginning, but this is going to be a big decision to make in 2026.
“What I can also guarantee is Rashford is very happy at Barcelona.”
Rashford arrived at Barcelona in July for the start of his 12-month loan spell and the reigning La Liga title holders are covering the United star’s mammoth wages.
United have included an option for Barcelona to make Rashford’s stay at the Camp Nou permanent in 2026, with a £30.3m transfer fee included in the summer deal.
