Wayne Rooney has weighed in on reports Cristiano Ronaldo could join Manchester City.
Speaking to Talksport, Rooney said he doubted Ronaldo would want to ruin his Manchester United legacy.
Sky Sports report City have been offered the chance to sign Ronaldo as he plots a route out of Juventus.

Rooney won the Champions League alongside Ronaldo for Manchester United back in 2008.
Rooney said: “It’s an interesting one but I can’t see it. I think Cristiano has got a very good legacy at Manchester United and I know how proud he is as a player and a person. I can’t see it, but it’s football so you never know.”
“There have been a few that have done it but no one at Cristiano’s level. Obviously Peter Schmeichel and Andy Cole, but I just can’t see that as an option for him really.
“Financially of course he doesn’t need to do it. I think it’s more likely that it’s PSG he goes to.”
Tearing down his legacy
Manchester United fans have been incredibly proud of Cristiano Ronaldo after the past decade as he continues his career away from Old Trafford.
To have him sign for City would be a kick in the teeth, and it would tarnish everything he achieved at United.
Carlos Tevez is not looked at the same way by United fans after he crossed the divide, and there would be no forgiveness towards Ronaldo.
As Rooney points out, it is hard to fathom why Ronaldo would be willing to throw it all away, and he doesn’t need the money.
Let’s hope this one does not end up with Ronaldo in City blue.
