Ruben Amorim is just hours away from starting his first day as the new head coach of Manchester United.
The 39-year-old took charge of his final game with Sporting Lisbon on Sunday night as he inspired them to a remarkable 4-2 comeback against Braga.
Just hours before, Ruud van Nistelrooy ended his stint as Manchester United’s interim manager with a dominant 3-0 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Amorim is set to hold crunch talks with Van Nistelrooy about his future at the club once he arrives in England.
Based on videos from Portugal, it seems his arrival in Manchester is imminent.

Ruben Amorim boards flight to Manchester
On Sunday evening, it was reported that Amorim’s start at United could be delayed due to work permit issues.
He was scheduled to start on Monday after seeing out the notice period attached to his Sporting contract, and it seems all is still going to plan.
That is because a video from Portugal shows Ruben Amorim boarding his flight to England alongside his coaching staff.
Dated at just before 11am on Monday, Amorim was recorded boarding his flight alongside coaching staff Carlos Fernandes, Adelio, Nuno Barreira, Emanuel Ferro and Vital.

However, many of his new squad will be away on international duty when he arrives, with limited training time before facing Kieran McKenna’s side later this month.
