Victor Lindelof trained today for Manchester United despite being described as an injury concern for this week’s fixture with Sheffield United.
The club website reported today: “Victor Lindelof limped off towards the end of Friday’s game and it’s not yet clear whether he’ll be available to face the Blades.”
United published the photo below from today’s training session with Teden Mengi front and centre, with Lindelof in the right-hand corner at the back.
He is also pictured in the background of another picture in which Paul Pogba takes on Tahith Chong.
There was no sign of Axel Tuanzebe, who was listed as injured for the previous fixture.

Best to start Eric Bailly anyway?
In our recent predicted line-up, we have gone for Eric Bailly over Victor Lindelof, partly due to the injury concern. If he is not 100 per cent, then there is no need to risk him.
Yet there is also a nagging suspicion that Bailly may be the better partner for Harry Maguire in central defence anyway.
When Maguire was left behind by Steven Bergwijn for Tottenham’s opening goal, Lindelof tried to get across the block his shot. He was not quick enough.
Could the pacier Bailly have been able to get across in time and dive in to prevent the effort?
While the main error was Maguire’s, and latterly David de Gea’s, the goal exposed a flaw in the United defensive partnership which started.

Eric Bailly has not had a run in the team partnering Maguire and this could be a good opportunity to bring him in.
It would not be a surprise to see Solskjaer select £31 million signing Lindelof, he has featured in 35 games this season for United, all of them as a starter.
Yet in this situation it appears there is more to gain from leaving him out; keeping him fresh and experimenting with a new partnership, than putting him straight back in.
