United loanee Di'Shon Bernard wins player of the month award
Manchester United loanee Di’Shon Bernard has won Hull City’s Player of the Month award for October.
21-year-old defender Bernard is out on loan with Grant McCann’s Championship side for the season.
Bernard was the runway winner after scooping a massive 73.28 per cent of the vote, as per the club’s official website.
He started all five of the games last month and took to Twitter to thank the fans for voting.
The award continues Bernard’s impressive progress with the second tier club.
In September, he earned praise for an ‘8 out of 10’ performance against Swansea City.
This award is evidence that he is impressing the fans too, in what is a tough season for Hull.
They are currently 22nd, inside the Championship relegation zone, three points adrift of Peterborough above them after 17 games.
Bernard’s fellow central defensive academy graduate Teden Mengi took to Instagram to congratulate him on the award.
Hull ended a five-match losing run on Saturday, with a 2-0 away win over Barnsley.
Bernard started in that game, and made an impressive seven clearances (as per WhoScored) to help keep a clean sheet.
Even if Hull continue to struggle, it is important for Bernard to continue to stand out, as he looks to build on some deserved recognition.
