Manchester United were linked with a move for Zambian striker Patson Daka at the start of this month.
The Sun reported United were considering a move for the Red Bull Salzburg forward, who is rated at around £20 million.
United have not pushed ahead with a move since, with a striker not currently a top priority.
Daka though is making himself a hard player to ignore, and United risk missing out.

45 minute blitz
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows about scoring four goals in quick succession, doing so famously as a substitute in a 8-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
There were just 22 minutes separating Daka’s four goals as Salzburg thrashed SW Bregenz 10-0.
Daka netted in the 17th, 23rd, 37th and 39th minutes to give his side an unassailable lead.
Mercifully he was then taken off at half-time in the cup clash, his first competitive game of the season.
Daka had shown his quality at the end of last month, scoring two goals in a 2-2 friendly draw with Liverpool.
Last season Daka scored 27 goals in all competitions, showing himself capable of filling the void left by Erling Haaland.
A late move?
United’s priorities lie elsewhere right now, with Jadon Sancho the top priority, with BBC Sport reporting United are edging closer to a deal.
A left-back is also a consideration, but if United can get both of these deals done with a week to go before the transfer deadline, it may free the club up to look at one final move, to add competition up front.
Daka would be the icing on the cake of a successful window, and at the least, he is worth monitoring for a future move.
At just 21, he is a top talent. Hopefully another club will not beat United to it.
