Manchester United fans were treated to an incredible performance by summer transfer target Matheus Cunha on Saturday.
Wolves beat Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City 3-0 in the Premier League and Matheus Cunha put on a masterclass performance at Molineux.
Reports claim United are close to an agreement for Cunha with Ineos willing to pay his £62.5m release clause this summer to get a deal done quickly.
Ruben Amorim is a big admirer of the Brazilian forward and it seems Cunha is eager to join United with reports that he loves the club.
There have been some alarming concerns over Cunha’s attitude at Wolves this season, with complaints from his own manager towards his behaviour. United have been warned that the 25-year-old can be overly emotional, but it is something he is clearly aware of.

Matheus Cunha’s ’emotional’ claim after Man United target dominates
After scoring and picking up two assists in the 3-0 win over Leicester, Matheus Cunha spoke about his future and also addressed comments that he can be too emotional.
Via Match of the Day, Cunha said: “I always say, when I’m in this shirt I’m always happy on the pitch to play for this team, to play with my teammates.
“Everyone knows that I think sometimes my emotion is too much because I really love to be here.
“But of course the most important is to help the team.”
Concerns over Cunha’s attitude and emotions on the pitch mostly stem from his two suspensions this season.
Cunha was handed a two-match ban for clashing with Ipswich Town security in December and was given an extra one-match ban and fined £50,000 for acting improperly after being sent off against Bournemouth in March.
Matheus Cunha shows shades of Bruno Fernandes mentality
As Cunha said himself, sometimes he cares too much on a football pitch and that has landed him in trouble this season.
But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing from United’s perspective. Amorim needs players who care, and players who are desperate to be at Old Trafford – Cunha ticks both boxes.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes has been heavily criticised this season for his leadership on the pitch and showing frustration, but the Portuguese playmaker is also a fan favourite for that very reason.
Fernandes can often let his emotions get the better of him too, with the 30-year-old sent off three times this season.
But United have always thrived having big characters in the dressing room and Cunha has the mentality to thrive at Old Trafford.
