Three more deals Manchester United could do despite the transfer window closing

The transfer window is now closed until the summer. But that does not mean it is the end of Manchester United’s business.

A handful of deals could still materialise from an outgoings perspective.

These range from ‘almost certain’, to ‘very possible’, to ‘possible.

Let’s begin with the ‘almost certain’ one…

Marcos Rojo to leave for free and join Boca Juniors

This is one deal on the verge of being done imminently. Rojo is already in Argentina and plans to wrap up a move to Boca this week.

Argentine outlet Ole report Rojo has already completed an extensive medical at Boca and will train with his new teammates today.

All that remains pending is an official announcement. There was no need for this one to be rushed before the deadline, with the Argentine transfer window remaining open.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen out on loan?

Norwegian youngster Isak Hansen-Aaroen has made a good impression for United’s under-18s since joining in the summer.

For now he is back in Norway. He travelled there during the festive break and has remained there, a mutual decision based on the Covid situation in the UK.

Hansen-Aaroen, 16, is training with former club Tromso, coach Lars Petter Andressen told United.no.

Tromso are hoping for a loan until the end of the season, with Andressen adding: “We want to borrow him, and have also told this to United, via his agent. Then we will see what happens, and if it is possible.”

Hansen-Aaroen featured for Tromso’s first team before he left, and this would just be a temporary move which might be to everybody’s benefit.

The Norwegian transfer window is open until April 7, so this deal can still happen.

Sergio Romero to…?

At present, quite bizarrely, there are no takers for Sergio Romero. Surely that can change?

The Argentine window remains open for another fortnight, while there are leagues around Europe with extended windows.

The Russian window is open until February 25, Ukraine until March 2, while teams in Serbia and Switzerland have another week.

Romero is talented goalkeeper who deserves better than being United’s third or fourth or even fifth choice.

A loan move should appeal, while United could also ‘do a Rojo’ and move to pay up his contract early.
