It’s not the first time Joshua Zirkzee has attracted interest from Italy since moving to the Premier League, but Manchester United should snap Juventus’ hand off if the Serie A giants make a serious offer for the Netherlands international.
Joshua Zirkzee has been an underwhelming signing at Manchester United. A forward renowned for linking up play but not putting the ball in the back of the net, which tends to be an issue when you’re playing for a top team.
Following a 2024 transfer from Bologna that cost £36.5m, Zirkzee has scored just nine goals in 75 appearances, but he could stay at Old Trafford due to the lack of striker options.
United fans saw Zirkzee start in the 1-0 pre-season defeat to Wrexham on Saturday, but it was a typical performance. Some decent touches, but nowhere near enough threat to cause havoc for the opposing defence.

Should Manchester United KEEP or SELL Joshua Zirkzee in summer 2026?
Joshua Zirkzee becomes an option for Juventus
It’s been a quiet summer for Zirkzee so far.
Not only was he overlooked by Ronald Koeman in the Netherlands World Cup squad, but it’s been quiet on the transfer front too.
That could be about to change following a report from Gazzetta that claims Zirkzee has emerged as an option for Juventus and they have enquired about his availability as well as the conditions of a potential deal.
United reportedly value Zirkzee somewhere between £25m-30m (€30m-€35m) and are open to a sale.
This opens the door to a golden opportunity for United to cash in on Zirkzee, but there’s reason to be cynical since this is not the first time he has been linked with a return to Italy.
United should snap Juventus’ hand off if they make a serious offer for Zirkzee because Michael Carrick is going to need a back-up striker who not only pushes Benjamin Sesko for a place in the team, but also has an eye for goal when called upon.
There are few things as uninspiring as Zirkzee coming on when United require a goal.
