The stats are in from the World Cup – with the fastest players at the tournament revealed.

Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 World Cup Final, marking the end of a festival of football that has captured the globe’s attention since early June.

Kylian Mbappe scooped the Golden Boot Award, netting 10 goals for France during the tournament.

And that was not the only notable honour for Mbappe, who perhaps unsurprisingly topped the speed charts.

Mbappe is officially the ‘fastest player in the world’, after clocking the tournament’s top speed at 37.61 km/h.

Marcus Rashford was Man Utd’s fastest player

FIFA’s data revealed the fastest players at the 2026 World Cup beyond Kylian Mbappe, and we can work out the quickest Manchester United player.

Marcus Rashford takes the honour. The England international set the 25th fastest speed at the tournament at 35.17 km/h.

Rashford is the only Manchester United player to feature in the tournament’s top 100.

Morocco’s Noussair Mazraoui is the next behind him, in 129th. He set a speed of 33.87 km/h.

The third fastest Manchester United player at the tournament was Ivory Coast star Amad at 33.32 km/h – a speed that was the 212th quickest in total.

Despite outpacing his Manchester United colleagues, Rashford was not the quickest England player at World Cup 2026.

That honour belonged to Djed Spence, the 8th fastest player overall with a top pace of 36.22 km/h.

Man Utd sold the second fastest player in the world

Kylian Mbappe set the fastest speed, with former Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga second.

Sweden forward Elanga set a top pace fo 37.16 km/h, before they were eliminated from the tournament by Mbappe’s France.

Elanga was known for his pace while breaking through at Manchester United. He was sold to Nottingham Forest for £15 million.

He joined Newcastle last summer and had a difficult season living up to an expensive fee, but enjoyed a decent World Cup, managing to get on the scoresheet along the way.
