Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was among the first Premier League managers to react to Ruben Amorim’s dismissal at Manchester United.
Almost 24 hours have passed since Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim as head coach.
The Portuguese coach spent 14 months at Old Trafford, experiencing mixed results since the start of the 2025/26 season, following a previous 15th-place finish in the Premier League and a defeat in the Europa League final.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe backed Amorim as head coach with a defensive interview three months ago, but it didn’t last very long once Ineos were challenged by the 40-year-old.

Darren Fletcher will step in as interim coach for the upcoming games before a decision is made for the remainder of the season.
It has been suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on the temporary role, while Michael Carrick is a top contender.
Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner is a top target to get the job permanently in the summer.

Thomas Frank reacts to Ruben Amorim sacking at Man Utd
Although Thomas Frank moved from Brentford to Tottenham in the summer, the Danish coach was previously linked with the head coach role at United.
Tottenham are currently positioned 13th in the Premier League table, and Frank is under pressure after a mixed start to life at the London club.
Frank addressed the media on Monday ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Wednesday, when he was asked about United’s decision to part ways with Amorim after 14 months in the hot seat.
The Dane gave his opinion on the management structure at clubs in the modern game.
“It’s just another example, from my point of view, that it’s very difficult to achieve sustained success if you change key personnel like the head coach, sporting directors,” Frank told reporters, as quoted by The Athletic.
“If you think you have the right ones and you are aligned, you need to do it over a long time.
“In this fantastic, beautiful world, you win one day and you’re in heaven; you lose and you’re in hell. The best clubs are aligned over time and they keep the noise out.”

Solskjaer is reportedly open to returning to the Old Trafford hotseat
It remains to be seen what direction United will take with their interim and permanent appointments, but Frank has not been mentioned as a contender for either role.
Frank will be focused on getting results at Tottenham rather than jumping to a bigger club anytime soon.
Nuno Espirito Santo advice for Ruben Amorim
With midweek fixtures taking place in the Premier League, all managers will face the media for questioning when they will likely get asked a question on Amorim after being sent his marching orders at Old Trafford.
Fellow Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who is preparing for West Ham’s crucial clash against Nottingham Forest, expressed surprise at the announcement.
“Like everybody, [I’m surprised,” Nuno said, as per Sky Sports.
“I’m sad – he’s Portuguese, a young manager. But it is what it is. We are aware how the industry works.”
When asked if he had any advice for Amorim, Nuno said, “Go back home, reset and get ready for the next challenge. This is your life.”
