Pride is at stake as Manchester United take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
After Manchester United lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest last time out, Ruben Amorim will hope his side can bounce back in the Manchester derby.
There isn’t much for the Red Devils to play for in the Premier League given they are down in 13th in the table, but bragging rights are always up for grabs when Manchester City visit Old Trafford.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

Amorim got the better of Pep Guardiola in the reverse fixture back in December, with Amad Diallo scoring a last-gasp winner at The Etihad.
Just a month before that, Amorim’s Sporting Lisbon smashed City in the Champions League, so United’s head coach is hoping for a third win against them this weekend.

Scott McTominay message to Man United for Manchester derby
Ahead of the derby, Amorim confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo is set to return from injury and could feature in the match.
Winning the midfield battle could be the key to victory on Sunday, and a former United midfielder in Scott McTominay has sent a message ahead of the derby match.
Manchester United messaged several former stars asking their favourite Manchester derby memory, and McTominay cast his mind back to 2020.
“My favourite memory has to be the goal in 2020, I still get goosebumps about the crowd and the atmosphere after the game!
“The derby is a special match and I wish you all the best, a big win.”
Former United stars Chris Smalling, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera also replied and reminisced about some iconic Manchester derby victories.
Scott McTominay starred in incredible Manchester derby win
McTominay was quick to point out his goal at Old Trafford back in 2020 as his favourite memory, and it is a match that will also be remembered vividly by fans.
Old Trafford was practically shaking when McTominay capitalised on Ederson’s poor pass to score from 40 yards out and double United’s lead.
United beat City 2-0 at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign in what turned out to be the final match with a full attendance before the Covid-19 rules came into effect.

Interestingly, McTominay has faced City 15 times – more than any other team. His goal in 2020 was the only one he managed against United’s arch-rivals.
He won six, drew one and lost eight times against City – his last meeting came in the 2024 FA Cup final, where he starred in United’s 2-1 victory.
