Manchester United have been linked to World Cup-bound Spain star Marc Cucurella as a potential transfer target.
While the transfer priority at Manchester United is the midfield, there is also talk of signing a new left-back.
United have been linked to Lewis Hall, but if the Newcastle star is unavailable, Marc Cucurella is an option as an alternative target.
United nearly signed Cucurella under Erik ten Hag, and now transfer rumours are re-emerging.

Should Man United try sign Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall this summer?

Spanish press praise Marc Cucurella display
Just days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, Spain beat Peru 3-1 in a friendly match, and Marc Cucurella played more minutes than anyone in the Spanish side.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo summed up Cucurella’s display in one word: “Untouchable”.
They added: “He leaves it all on the pitch. He managed to prevent a clear chance in the first half and came close to doing the same with the goal.”
AS were just as complimentary towards the Spanish defender, writing: “More dynamic than Llorente and just as physically imposing.
“He made good adjustments, especially in one instance where he thwarted a chance Peru was already savouring in the six-yard box. He also surged forward with ease down the wing, providing excellent width.”

Marc Cucurella to Man United latest updates
According to another Mundo Deportivo report, Cucurella has asked Chelsea to leave this summer, which is what sparked rumours of United’s interest.
Cucurella was signed by Chelsea for £60 million back in 2022.
Unlike many other Chelsea stars, Cucurella does not have a ridiculously long contract length, with his current deal set to expire in 2028. If Chelsea don’t sell up soon, his value will quickly drop.

United are looking at the left-back market to add depth to the squad behind Luke Shaw. Despite Shaw starting every Premier League match this season, a return to the Champions League means next season’s schedule will be hectic.
Patrick Dorgu could be viewed more as a left winger option after his impressive run under Michael Carrick.
