Manchester United are being linked with Lewis Hall and transfer chief Christopher Vivell could be a key player in making the deal happen.

Despite Luke Shaw’s ever-present Premier League record this season, a left-back signing is a priority for Manchester United this summer.

United are interested in Lewis Hall, and The Athletic claim that a deal could be done for just over £50 million.

Hall was unhappy with Eddie Howe and Newcastle’s underperforming season. United can offer him Champions League football and an exciting long-term project.

Christopher Vivell’s connection to Lewis Hall

Christopher Vivell has built up a strong reputation at United having played a key role in several successful signings.

Last summer, Vivell was key to signing Benjamin Sesko. This summer, he could use his connection to Hall to help push through a deal.

Vivell was Chelsea’s technical director between 2022 and 2023, when Hall made his breakthrough into the Chelsea first-team.

Vivell crossed paths with Hall at Stamford Bridge, and TNT Sports claim he is leading the push for a left-back signing this summer.

Lewis Hall must be a priority at £50m

With Patrick Dorgu playing his best football in a left wing position this season, United can push him forward and strengthen at left-back instead.

United’s transfer budget is sizeable this summer, and Hall should be a top priority if his price tag is £50 million.

Hall and Shaw can rotate across the four competitions United are competing in. Hall also has experience playing in central midfield, making him a versatile signing.

Newcastle have already sold Anthony Gordon, so they are not under huge pressure to sell another key player. But if Hall pushes for an exit, a move to Old Trafford could take place.
