Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about transfers after the club’s 2-1 friendly win over Derby.
It was widely reported Jadon Sancho came in for a medical last week, with BBC Sport reporting the winger had completed it. He is set to move as part of a £73 million transfer.
But peculiarly United have not formally announced the deal.
Solskjaer attempted to bring some clarity to the situation.

The United boss told Sky Sports: “There are a couple of things to do with paperwork but we hope we can announce one player who has had a lot written about him. We are working, we want to have a strong squad.
“I don’t think it’s a secret we have a deal with Dortmund, but until the paperwork is done he is still a Dortmund player.”
Hopefully this one gets sorted out as quickly as possible. Hearing that Sancho is technically still a Dortmund player is enough to make any United fan feel uneasy.
Regarding Raphael Varane, Solskjaer had less to say, simply responding, “Same again”.
This implies he will talk about Varane when and if he is a Manchester United player, and only then.
United fans are probably even more excited about Varane than Sancho right now as a deal for the Frenchman seemed so unlikely.
Sky Sports report personal terms have are close to being agreed with the 28-year-old centre-back, and the club can now focus on finalising a fee with Real Madrid. This seems to be the backward way United operate now.
Varane is under contract at Real for just one more year, putting the Spanish side in a weak position, and importantly, it appears Varane wants to move on.
