Shea Lacey sends message as Man Utd youngster confirms loan move, Kobbie Mainoo also reacts

Manchester United’s transfer window picked up pace recently with their third bid for Bryan Mbeumo and the departures have started happening too.

Ruben Amorim would like the departure of one of the unwanted five first, but, in the meantime, they can’t sit on their laurels and need to help other players.

Due to no European competition next season, the need for a bigger squad is lessened. That is hardly ideal for a club like Man Utd that has a thriving youth system.

That’s where loans come into the picture, and one youngster has become the latest to seal one for himself. The number of responses he’s received clearly indicates he’s a popular person in the academy.

Shea Lacey responds to Dan Gore’s message

United started the ball rolling on loans this season by rerouting Enzo Kana-Biyik to Lausanne as soon as his signing at Old Trafford was announced.

Since then, Habeeb Ogunneye has signed for Newport County, and now Dan Gore’s Rotherham move sees him return to a club where he had a weird time.

Dan Gore flew out of the blocks on loan at Rotherham last season, before a freakish injury and his manager’s weird handling of it put his time in jeopardy.

However, his talent has never been in doubt, and an injury-free season is what Rotherham are banking on to seal this move.

After his move was confirmed, Gore said, “Buzzin to be back here [Rotherham United] on a season-long loan! Can’t wait to get started.”

Shea Lacey, a breakout candidate at United this season, wished him good luck, saying, “Good luck brother”, with a heart and fist emoji.

Kobbie Mainoo said, “Let’s goo”, with a heart emoji, while Joe Hugill and Tyler Fletcher also wished him the best. Maxi Oyedele, who recently sealed a move to Strasbourg, netting United £2m in the process, said, “Back, let’s get it!”.

Tyler Fredricson, Man Utd’s newest wonderkid, was also among the ones to wish him the best.

Make-or-break spell for Dan Gore

Gore’s exploits during the first pre-season under Erik ten Hag have almost become the stuff of legends at this point because he hasn’t been able to build on it.

He has been fiercely unlucky with injuries since that breakout, but the silver lining is that he has looked imperious whenever he has played.

Clearly, United see the same, which is why they are not willing to cut ties with him despite an unfortunate spell at Rotherham last season.

Both Rotherham and United will be hoping that he stages a comeback this season by staying injury-free, because talent was never a question with him.

It has all the makings of a make-or-break spell for Gore, whose contract at United expires next summer. The club do hold an option to extend it, but whether that is exercised or Gore is left to find a path as a free agent will depend on this spell.
