Manchester United have managed an incoming and an outgoing at the same time by signing Enzo Kana-Biyik and immediately loaning him out to FC Lausanne-Sport.
The signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik was an open secret and sealed long before July, but Man Utd waited until July to confirm it.
He goes to Ineos-owned FC Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland on a season-long loan, with United preferring he spend the pre-season with the Swiss team.
Lausanne clearly seem excited about his arrival, as they’ve praised him after his move, also hinting at a good squad role with his shirt number.

FC Lausanne-Sport praise Enzo Kana-Biyik
This is the first instance of Ineos using their network of owned clubs to their benefit, with their last transaction at OGC Nice, in particular, gaining traction for helping Man Utd’s rival.
Man Utd fans will keep a close eye on Kana-Biyik, as he was nowhere near ready to contribute at Old Trafford, but clearly comes highly-rated.
Hailing from the famed Le Havre academy in France, this loan at Lausanne will help him to develop in a senior football environment away from the intense glare at United.
Lausanne announced his signing of this “pure talent” in their official release, calling him “powerful and technical” with a “great eye for goal”.
Lausanne’s official release (in French) said: “A U18 international, Enzo is a powerful and technical striker with a great eye for goal. He will wear the number 22 for LS. Son of André Kana Biyik, a Cameroonian legend with 80 caps, Enzo is also continuing his rise in the professional world.”
They also welcomed him on their Instagram with a post.
Enzo Kana-Biyik will be one to watch
Kana-Biyik wasn’t even a first-team regular for Le Havre, so there was no way United were going to fast-track him like they did Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, or potentially Diego Leon.
Having said that, Lausanne play in the first division in Switzerland with formidable opponents like FC Basel, Young Boys, and Sion.
More importantly, they will participate in the UEFA European Conference League in 2025/26, with the qualifying round for the same starting on July 24.
The French striker will get senior football at a good level while also gaining experience in a European competition.
It is an opportunity that should be taken with both hands, which is why he will be one to watch for fans next season. A good loan at that level could easily open doors for him at Old Trafford as soon as next season.
