Manchester United players are raising the stakes in front of Ineos, and Senne Lammens has joined Harry Maguire in doing the same.

The 0-0 draw against Sunderland saw Senne Lammens emerge with his reputation enhanced, and he’s starting to speak like a leader.

His form is already beyond his price tag and age, so when he speaks, the board listen, which he knows very well, going by his recent comments.

He has joined Harry Maguire in putting pressure on the Man Utd board by sending the same message to raise the stakes.

Senne Lammens wants quality additions at Man Utd

Credit needs to be given to Michael Carrick for achieving Champions League qualification, but he has also managed in unique circumstances.

Due to a lighter fixture list, he has been able to consistently call upon a group of 13-14 players who haven’t let him down.

The moment he rotated and gave fringe players a chance against Sunderland, the shallow depth of this Man Utd squad was exposed.

The situation will change next summer when United play four competitions, so this depth will be exposed twice every week rather than for the last three games of the season.

Lammens knows that, and he challenged Man Utd to do well in the transfer market to prepare for next season’s gauntlet.

He said: “It’s a very hard league. Next year will be a hard programme [playing in Champions League]. So you want to get as many, or you want to have people in there who can come in when it’s needed.”

Lammens joins Harry Maguire and more in putting pressure

Lammens is the latest one to demand more ambition from Ineos, but he is by no means the only one.

Carrick says Top 5 isn’t enough. Honestly, based on his run, do you think we are a genuine Title Contender for next season?

Previously, Harry Maguire has already said that a big transfer window in the summer is needed to ensure United take advantage of this launchpad.

The same has been demanded by Bruno Fernandes as he weighs up his next career decision in the summer amid interest from other clubs.

The upcoming summer is a decisive one for the club since it’s the first time under Ineos that they’re entering a market from a position of strength.

Glazers would have wasted this opportunity, as they did in the past when Jose Mourinho was given Fred, Lee Grant, and Diogo Dalot after a season of finishing second.

Ineos need to go the opposite route and put their foot on the gas further to take this team to greatness.
