Ryan Giggs admitted that he hasn’t forgotten about the impact that one manager’s team had on him during his time at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 51-year-old Manchester United legend became the Red Devils’ all-time leading appearance-maker during his incredible playing career at Old Trafford.
Ryan Giggs spent the large majority of his United career under Sir Alex Ferguson and the Welshman hoovered up the major silverware at the Red Devils.
The former United star lifted all 13 of the Red Devils’ Premier League titles and captured two Champions Leagues, four FA Cups and four League Cups.
Giggs, who played a key role in the treble-winning side in 1999, took up a player-coach role at United after Ferguson retired at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
The ex-Wales boss would become interim player-manager at Old Trafford in 2014 after Ferguson’s United successor David Moyes was sacked.
Giggs took a major step into the world of coaching after he served as United assistant manager for two seasons under Louis van Gaal at the Red Devils.

Giggs has flashbacks to manager’s ‘teams’
Ryan Giggs has been out of management since he stepped down from his first — and only — managerial role in 2020 after a spell with the Wales national team.
The former Wales international has hinted at returning to management, but Giggs has currently been working behind the scenes at Salford City.
Giggs is a co-owner of Salford City alongside other key ‘Class of ‘92’ members and he took up the role of director of football at the League Two side in 2024.
Salford City have been training at Manchester United’s old training complex The Cliff due to the frozen pitches at Moor Lane amid the current weather recently.
Giggs revisited The Cliff with Salford City and he said that it brought “back memories” of United training ahead of playing Pep Guardiola’s teams.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he told the newspaper: “It brings back memories of when we played against Pep’s teams.
“It’s giving me a headache!”
Giggs crossed paths with Pep Guardiola’s legendary Barcelona teams of the past and Sir Alex Ferguson lost in both the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals.
Paul Scholes reacts to Man City vs Salford City
Salford City face a tough test on Saturday when they travel to the Etihad for their third-round FA Cup clash against Premier League side Manchester City.
Paul Scholes, who is a co-owner of Salford City, has admitted that he is “excited” to see his side come up against United’s crosstown rivals in the cup competition.
“We’ve had success in the FA Cup as players – we’ve been to finals, played big semi-finals,” he said.
“But this is something that is unprecedented for a club like this and I’m excited for everyone to watch a team that we’ve put together with a fantastic manager who we’ve brought in and see how we cope.
“We are in League Two for a reason but just to see the Salford badge in that arena, a big TV game, some of the young lads who have been through our academy, the ones we’ve signed for not a lot, of Karl [Robinson] against Pep [Guardiola].”
