Sir Alex Ferguson took matters into his own hands after he “wanted” a Manchester United legend to move “out” of one city after their move to Old Trafford.
The 83-year-old legendary former Manchester United manager was well known for taking an interest in his players’ personal lives during his time at the Red Devils.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s rule at Old Trafford remained unchallenged and the iconic Scotsman was not afraid to axe United players who stepped out of line.
The United legend enjoyed an incredible 26-year reign at the Premier League club and Ferguson is widely considered one of the best managers of all time.
During his time at Old Trafford, Ferguson engineered all 13 of United’s Premier League title wins and ushered in a period of dominance over English football.
The former Aberdeen head coach was the first manager in history to lead an English team to a continental treble, with United successfully pulling off the feat in 1999.

Ferguson’s signing of Man Utd legend
Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out of Old Trafford as Manchester United manager in 2013 after leading the club to their last Premier League title in the 2012-13 campaign.
The iconic former Red Devils boss signed an abundance of talent during his time at Old Trafford, including Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ferguson completed his stunning move for United and England legend Wayne Rooney in 2004 as part of a £27m deal from Everton.
Rooney burst onto the scene at boyhood club Everton and impressed under David Moyes before he made his blockbuster transfer to United.
The 39-year-old former United striker had a prolific spell at Old Trafford and went on to eclipse Sir Bobby Charlton as United’s all-time leading scorer.
Coleen Rooney appeared on the Stick to Football show and she opened up on the “backlash” their families received in Liverpool after Rooney’s move to United.
“Our house got spray painted everywhere and there were smashed windows in cars,” she said on The Overlap.
“We literally took ourselves and moved because Sir Alex Fergusson said that he wanted us out of Liverpool. But it was our families that got the backlash then and that wasn’t fair.
“Wayne never went into Liverpool for a while after that, [whether] to get food or go shopping because people would just shout stuff.”
Coleen Rooney on Wayne’s time at Man Utd
Wayne Rooney lifted five Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, a Europa League, three League Cups and an FA Cup during his time at United.
Coleen Rooney admitted that her husband still “loved” Everton, but she added that the United legend’s time at Old Trafford was “worth it for him.”
“I don’t think it was an issue moving to Manchester,” she said.
“For him, Everton is his club, and he loved it, still does, but Manchester United is a massive club. All he wanted to do was win trophies.
“He saw players in the past stay with their childhood clubs and not go on to win anything. For him, it was hard, but he stood his ground and wanted to leave.
“It was tough, but it was worth it for him because he went on to win and seize the lead goalscorer. We had some fantastic times there.”
