Manchester United legend Roy Keane has now responded to claims that former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer passed on his phone number to Bruno Fernandes.
Roy Keane launched a scathing attack on Bruno Fernandes last month after the legendary former Manchester United captain criticised the Portuguese midfielder.
The 54-year-old Sky Sports pundit took issue with Fernandes chasing the Premier League assist record and Keane ended up misquoting the current United skipper.
Fernandes came out swinging after Keane’s remarks and the 31-year-old Man Utd ace claimed that he did not like it when “people lie about things that I say.”

Roy Keane asked if Bruno Fernandes contacted him after the Man Utd ace requested his phone number from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
During his appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Bruno Fernandes admitted that he had reached out to former Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer is close pals with fellow Manchester United legend Roy Keane and Fernandes wanted the phone number of the no-nonsense Irishman to text him.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Keane was now asked about Fernandes wanting his number to contact him after their spat.
The iconic former Man Utd midfielder claimed that both he and Fernandes spoke and welcomed the opportunity for them both to clear the air over what happened.
“I did. I called him and we did a lovely chat,” Keane said.
“Lovely chat about a bit of everything, really. But it was nice because again, when we do podcasts or games, sometimes you think you say something afterwards, you’re trying to communicate something that doesn’t come across properly.
“And people get upset and he wanted to speak to me. And we had a nice, mature conversation. It was lovely. It was a lovely chat.”
Are Roy Keane’s concerns valid? Or is he just adding needless negativity to the Michael Carrick debate?

Keane admitted that he felt better for addressing the noise around him and Man Utd captain Fernandes after tensions were raised over their back-and-forth war of words.
“Yeah, I like having boundaries with players,” he explained.
“I don’t want to be speaking to players every few weeks or their agents. I don’t go down that road.
“Every now and again, I know that, but every now and again, a player might reach out and you go [okay, I’ll talk to him].
“So, I think it was important I spoke to him because there’s been lots going on and lots reported and he’s obviously a big player for United and I’m an ex-United player and it was like, I think the idea of this communication and [to] have a proper conversation.
“I really enjoyed it and, hopefully, I think we did a nice chat about a bit of everything. Yeah, I felt better afterwards.”
When asked what he spoke with Fernandes about, Keane added: “A bit of everything: football, leadership, control, the way he plays, stats.
“Yeah, honestly, we spoke a bit of everything, but it was nice. It was a lovely chat.”
Fernandes broke the Premier League assist record on the final day of the 2025-26 campaign in Man Utd’s 3-0 win over Brighton at the Amex in May.
