Anthony Elanga has been the big winner of Manchester United’s pre-season so far.
He’s scored twice, against west London rivals Queens Park Rangers and Brentford. The latter was an eye-catching volley.
But he was absent from the United squad which travelled to Scotland to continue their pre-season preparations this week.
The Manchester Evening News report he has picked up a minor injury and stayed behind at Carrington for treatment.

Hopefully Elanga is fit for Everton
Fingers crossed that Elanga’s injury won’t keep him out of matches. United have one more pre-season game; against Everton on Sunday.
Elanga’s performances this summer mean it would be great to see him involved there.
With Marcus Rashford out for the opening months of the season, and Jadon Sancho not back yet, Elanga could be important.
In fact, a spot on the wing could be open on the opening weekend of the season against Leeds.

It would be a shame if injury ruled Elanga out of contention for that one, but it looks like he’ll be fine.
He has won praise from Bryan Robson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer and deservedly so.
His pace and directness has troubled opposition defences and Solskjaer has a big decision to make over whether to send him on loan.
The way he’s played this summer suggested he could be helpful to the first team but that’s a call United have to make before the end of the month when the transfer window closes.
