Manchester United are being linked with Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as a third and final midfield signing this summer.
The arrival of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans has already added some much-needed depth and quality to Michael Carrick’s midfield department.
But Manchester United want one final midfield signing to complete their rebuild and there are concrete links to Alex Scott.
Scott has rejected Bournemouth’s contract proposal and could be available this summer. The 22-year-old will want to make the move to Old Trafford to achieve a personal “dream”.

Man United can help Alex Scott achieve Champions League dream
Just over six years ago, Scott was playing non-league football and now he is one of the most sought-after young midfielders in the Premier League.
Speaking to Transfermarkt earlier this year, Scott laid out his dreams of playing in the Champions League.
“At some point, of course, I’d love to be playing Champions League football,” said Scott.
“Obviously playing non-league just over six years ago, it’s all happened very quickly so I had to grow up very quickly. But that’s definitely helped me.
“Everyone wants to play at the highest level and be one of the best players in the world, in the league and play for their country. They’re definitely dreams of mine. They were dreams from when I was a kid. I’d also love to be playing in the major tournaments for England.”

In the same interview, Scott admitted that he was wowed by Marcus Rashford when playing alongside him at the England camp.

When Scott was asked who impressed him the most, he answered: “Marcus Rashford’s shooting: I’ve never seen anything like that before – it was so good.”
With Rashford set to return to United, Scott could join him in Manchester this summer if Ineos decide to make a move for the Bournemouth star.
