Rasmus Hojlund will go down as one of Erik ten Hag’s more successful signings at Manchester United.
The Danish striker was signed by Erik ten Hag for £64million in 2023 and has turned into a fan favourite at Old Trafford.
Rasmus Hojlund impressed in his debut season, ending as United’s top scorer with 16 goals across all competitions.
Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag, Hojlund suffered an injury in pre-season which meant he was unavailable for the start of the season, but he has made a goalscoring return to the side after netting against Porto and Brentford.
As quoted by The Mirror, Ten Hag recently hailed Hojlund as his “most clinical” striker, but the 21-year-old was unable to save his job at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag was sacked as United manager on Monday morning following the 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

Rasmus Hojlund sends farewell message to Erik ten Hag
Farewell messages have begun to flood in with club captain Bruno Fernandes breaking the silence with his message to Ten Hag.
Hojlund was also quick to wish Ten Hag well after his sacking, and he did so with a 12-word message on Instagram.
Via his Instagram story, Hojlund wrote: “Thanks for everything boss. Wish u all the best in the future”.

Hojlund has played 51 games under Ten Hag – more than any other manager throughout his career.
He scored 18 goals under the Dutchman and was a key part of United’s FA Cup-winning squad last season.
Hojlund could thrive under Ruud van Nistelrooy
Ruud van Nistelrooy will take interim charge following Ten Hag’s sacking, and his first game as temporary manager comes on Wednesday evening in the League Cup against Leicester City.
The United legend, who was acting as Ten Hag’s assistant following his appointment in the summer, has been working closely with United’s strikers in training this season.

Hojlund has praised working with Van Nistelrooy and believes he can play a “big” part in his improvement. With Van Nistelrooy now in complete control of the side, he could get even more out of the young Dane.
Van Nistelrooy’s style of play during his time at PSV shows that his sides usually create plenty of chances, which will be music to Hojlund’s ears.
Data shows Hojlund will become world-class based on his conversion rate at United so far. Hopefully under Van Nistelrooy he can take it up another gear.
