Manchester United’s squad has so much depth that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can make 11 changes and still field a team packed with international talent.
This is what the United boss has the opportunity to do this evening against Everton in the Carabao Cup.
Changes are necessary as United have just played two games in a four day stretch and then have three league games following this match in a five day period.

The good news is Solskjaer half-prepared for this, by resting Paul Pogba entirely at the weekend and also holding Donny van de Beek back. Both midfielders could start this fixture.
While tempting perhaps to put Nemanja Matic in there, we suspect he won’t, and will trust Pogba and Van de Beek to anchor the midfield.
In from the cold
Jesse Lingard is available and could be brought in for his first appearance since September. United could select him and Juan Mata in the same line up while also including Mason Greenwood to provide a cutting edge.
Edinson Cavani will also be ready to start, and his presence will be enough to put the fear into Everton’s defence and open up space around him.
Defensively Alex Telles will come back in, and potentially link up with Cavani, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is due a rest at right-back.
This will mean one of Brandon Williams or Timothy Fosu-Mensah will deputise.
In central defence, both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof need a rest. We would like to see Solskjaer be bold and put his trust in Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly.
United have a big squad and Solskjaer needs to use it. In goal Dean Henderson will also come back in.
