Ineos are coming under pressure after sacking a second manager in as many seasons.
Manchester United fan sentiment is turning against Ineos after a hasty decision to fire Ruben Amorim.
While opinions on Amorim’s sacking are split, the process that led to his sacking is deserving of scrutiny.
Amorim accelerated his own demise by falling out with the United hierarchy, and this was a decision he forced, rather than one they came to of their own accord.
Amorim was hand-picked by Ineos, and his failure to complete a full season from start to finish reflects badly on them.
Director of football Jason Wilcox’s relationship with Amorim deteriorated, and he has been called out by former star Paul Scholes.

Paul Scholes played against Jason Wilcox as a player, and in recent times they have crossed paths at Manchester United matches.
Speaking to The Good, The Bad & The Football, Scholes says that he witnessed an interaction with Wilcox last season that left him concerned.
He said: “I was doing a TV game last year… It was one of the Europa League games, and the person who was with me on the TV actually bumped into Jason Wilcox, and he said, ‘I don’t think we’re far away, I think we could be three or four players away from being a really top team.’
“Now, that stuck in my head, I thought ____, it don’t feel like that to me.
“Three or four seasons I’m thinking.”
Nicky Butt responded: “Scholesy that’s because you know the Football Club. You know what it takes to go and win at that level.”
Butt has previously been on record expressing his distaste at Wilcox and Omar Berrada holding high-profile roles at United, due to their former Manchester City connections.

Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt often disagree with Manchester United’s approach and their constant negativity even frustrates fans.
But mainly, the chief subject of their criticism has been the head coach, Ruben Amorim.
Now he has gone, Ineos are the target for criticism. Many people would say that is justified and long overdue.
But it is interesting to see this now happening due to Amorim’s removal.
Wilcox and Berrada have both kept silent in the media for weeks. Now might be a good time for one of them to come out and explain the club’s strategy, and planning for a new head coach.
