Kylian Mbappe had sent a message out hours after his penalty miss apologsing for his costly spot-kick blunder.
Paul Pogba had less reason to be apologetic. The Manchester United midfielder was France’s best player at Euro 2020 and was unlucky to finish on the losing side.

After a silence of more than 24 hours, Pogba sent out a message reflecting on France’s exit.
He talked about the ‘cruel’ nature of football while also congratulated Switzerland.
France were the favourites to win Euro 2020 and their elimination has thrown the tournament wide open.
Pogba will be feeling particularly unlucky to have now lost two penalty shootouts in two months with Manchester United and France.
Praise for Pogba
Pogba was outstanding at Euro 2020 and his performances were a reminder of just how good he can be.
Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw responded to Pogba’s instagram post, with a message which read, ‘keep your head up bro your the best’.

Pogba will have a break now before returning to Manchester United in mid-July for pre-season.
Hopefully there will be talks over extending his contract, rather than talks of bids from potential clubs for his services.
Pogba showed at Euro 2020 he is too good to lose, providing he wants to stick around.
