MUTV pundit gives verdict on Amad performance vs Fulham, makes a clear point

Manchester United youngster Amad saw a late goal chalked off after a narrow VAR call.

Amad remains stuck on nine goals this season, after his 10th was disallowed against Fulham after a great link-up with Kobbie Mainoo.

The end result was unaffected, just the scoreline, with Manchester United defeating Fulham 1-0 thanks to a sole Lisandro Martinez strike.

It was not an easy game for Amad as a whole. He failed to create any chances, and aside from his disallowed strike, did not have any shots at goal.

‘Amad display more about Fulham’

Amad was not alone in having a difficult night from an attacking perspective. Martinez’s deflected winer was the only shot Manchester United had on target the entire match.

Speaking to MUTV, former star Wes Brown discussed Amad, and argued that Fulham deserved credit for keeping him as quiet as possible.

Brown said: “Garnacho and Amad, difficult nights playing against good players. They didn’t really give him, especially Amad, any room to run.

“He was always on his toes, he still looked sharp Amad, but not quite as effective as we have seen him obviously in previous games, but sometimes that’s just down to good defending as well.”

Brown added of United’s win: “Fulham kept us down to creating minimal really. We had to defend well at times. It was very important that we win this, we didn’t want to drop further down.”

Amad persistence present

One of the many aspects we love about Amad’s game is his sheer persistence. It is these mental attributes that have helped him break through at Manchester United.

This is evident with his ability to impact games late, he scored a sensational hat-trick against Southampton, with the first goal coming in the 82nd minute.

Amad’s late strike against Fulham may have narrowly been disallowed – but it was more evidence that even if defences contain him the entire game, he keeps going right to the end – and all it takes is one moment, and he will make them pay.
